英検準1級の長文読解の解き方｜読む順番・根拠の探し方・4週間の練習

英検準1級の長文読解は、大問2の空所補充6問と大問3の内容一致7問です。 段落ごとの主張と根拠を整理し、選択肢の言い換えと本文の範囲を合わせて解きましょう。

1. 読む順番と段落の読み方

大問1→2→3と進め、空所補充10分・内容一致18分を目安にします。段落メモは「提案・根拠・課題・応答」のように実際の構成に合わせます。内容一致では設問を先に読み、本文中の誰の考えが問われているかを確かめましょう。空所補充では前後の流れを先につかみます。長い文は主節の主語と動詞を捉え、挿入・修飾の情報を足して読みます。may・suggest・someといった限定を保って答えを比べましょう。

2. 例題（オリジナル）

Making Room for Maintenance

A regional museum wanted to improve access to its digital collection. Its initial plan focused on creating attractive images of objects and a convenient search system. These improvements would make the collection easier to explore. However, a member of the project team argued that the museum also needed to consider what would happen after the new system had been launched. Digital files, she pointed out, required continuing care.

The team had assumed that storing several copies would be sufficient. Yet copies could become difficult to use if information about their origin, format, or ownership was lost. Future staff might be able to open a file but be uncertain whether it represented the final version. To address this problem, the team decided to ( A ).
