The rules for the flag
Article 4 of the Spanish Constitution says that the flag is three horizontal stripes, red, yellow and red, with the yellow stripe twice as wide as each red stripe.
In its normal shape, the length of the flag is one and a half times its height (royal decree of 1977). The red and yellow are set by number values in a royal decree of 1981.
Flags on government buildings and similar places carry the coat of arms of Spain (law of 1981).
